About
A secret saree club.
Aanandini Heirlooms started with a simple problem: every time we went to South India, we came back wanting to bring half the saree shops home with us.
There were the beautiful silks, of course. But also the cottons, silk-cottons and lesser-known textiles that rarely seem to make it to Delhi. Sarees that are gorgeous, easy to wear and far more suited to everyday Indian life than their reputation might suggest.
So we decided to bring some of them here.
Founded by Hamsaanandini Nanduri and Priya Mathews, Aanandini is a carefully curated collection of sarees we genuinely love. We are particularly drawn to the less obvious finds — the textiles you may not have heard of, but will probably want to know about once you’ve seen them.
We’re not here to tell you that every saree needs a wedding.
Wear one to work. Wear one to lunch. Wear one to go shopping. Wear one because it’s Tuesday and you found a really good saree.
And because we think buying a saree should be almost as much fun as wearing one, Aanandini is deliberately offline and invite-only.
Think a ‘gaddas on the floor’ vibe. Tea, coffee and snacks. A little chatter. A lot of sarees. And two people with strong opinions about what looks good.
No fluorescent lights. No “Madam, this is our best price.” No pressure to buy.
Just good sarees, good company and hopefully, a little trouble leaving empty-handed.
Why We’re Here
We want to bring back the joy of buying a saree.
Not the hurried, transactional kind. The good kind.
The kind where you sit down, unfold one saree after another, discover a textile you’ve never heard of, argue about whether you can pull off that colour, have something to drink, and suddenly three hours have disappeared.
We curate sarees from across India, with a particular soft spot for the extraordinary variety of South Indian textiles. Our collections will move across regions, weaves, fabrics and price points — but everything makes the cut because we think it’s worth wearing.
We care about beautiful textiles, good craftsmanship and honest curation. We’ll tell you what a saree is, where it comes from and what makes it special. We won’t dress up an ordinary saree with fancy words, and we won’t tell you something is “the last piece” when it isn’t.
We want to make traditional textiles feel less intimidating and more inviting. We want sarees to leave the cupboard and come out into the world.
And perhaps most importantly, we want to make buying one fun again.
Come for the sarees. Stay for the company.
Come Over
Aanandini isn’t a store.
We’re an invite-only saree club in Delhi, and we open our doors for dedicated evenings of sarees, tea, snacks and conversation.
If you’d like to be invited to the next one, leave us your details below.
Lovely. You’re on the list — we’ll be in touch before the next evening.
